How to calculated column reinforcement Numbers of Bars(BBS).


Columns:

Columns are a type of vertical member that carries all the loads of the building from the roof to the beam and then to the ground at the base.

Different columns have different sizes in different places. It depends on one of the designers. So in this case, the importance of column design is a little more.


 It is good to know some important things in the column

 1 / The design of the column should match the actual work.

 2 / Keep the spacing of the ring of the rod correct. Of course, keep in mind that the spacing of the rod is given.

 3 / Keep the lapping zone of the column right.

 4 / Keep the clear cover of the column.

 5 / Correct the bar binding of the rod.

 8 / When lapping the rod, keep in mind that all the lapping should not be in one place, then it should be alternated. Try to make sure that 30/40% of the rod lapping falls in one place.




 Rules for finding out the reinforcement of the column: -

 Hold column size (24 "X 12")

 The rods used in the column are (20 mm Dia @ 8 Nos) and (16 mm Dia @ 6 Nos)

 Stirrup or ring used (10 mm Dia 5 "C / C)

 Note: 5 "c / c strip is used to indicate that the strip of the column is usually in L / 3 of the length of the column.



 Formula for finding the main bar: -

           Column number X The length of the column is the amount of X rods

        Suppose, column number 3.

                    20 mm Dai Rod

 (1) Main Bars Of Column: 3 X10'-0 "X 8 = 240 Rft.                                 = 240/3.28

                = 73.170m3

20mm Dia @  2.466 Per m3 = 73.170*2.466                        =180.43 kg/ m3


                    16 mm Dai Rod

 (2) Main Bars Of Column: 3 X10'-0 "X 6 = 180 Rft

                                                     = 180/3.28

                                           = 54.8780m3

16mm Dia @  1.576 Per m3 = 54.8780*1.576                        = 86.48 kg/ m3


 Stirrup / ring extraction formula: -

                       10 mm Dai Rod

 (1) Numbers Of Tie Bars:

 Hight Of Column (10 "-0 '/ (5/12") = 23.80 / 24 Nos

 (2) Length Of Tie Bars:

 Number Of Stirup = 24 Nos X Around Clear Cover (- 1.5 ") X Hooks (2x3") = 6'-6 "X 24 = 156 Rft
